Consentino Weekly Update- 11/30/24

Good morning Charger Nation!

Happy Saturday and happy LAST day of November! Hard to believe Thanksgiving has passed, December is tomorrow, and 2024 is almost in our rear-view mirror!

Anyway, we have a TON of exciting stuff coming up at Consentino over the next few weeks. In addition to our Multicultural Night on December 12th (see below), we’ll also have our PTO Movie Night this Friday (12/6) and our Chorus and Band Concert on 12/16.

Multicultural Night
One of the strengths of Consentino has always been the rich diversity of our school community. To that end, on December 12th we will host our first Multicultural Night from 5-7 pm! There will be food samplings, raffles, music, community resources, and more! So far, we have parents representing the Philippines, Haiti, and Ireland! Staff is showing up big and sharing sample foods from Mexico, Norway, Italy, Scotland, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Albania and Norway! Our students are extremely excited and are currently helping us create displays of each country! We also have some brave students who will be singing in different languages!

This is a community event and will be made possible with parent, guardian, family and staff volunteers!

If you are interested in attending and/or volunteering for this event please register via the link or the QR code below:

You can also send the school an email if that is easier: Jenniffer.cabreravicente@haverhill-ps.org. This is a free event!

Ways to support this event:

  • Wear clothing that represents your culture

  • Make and give out bite-size food from your culture (bring in a flag for your table and post ingredients in case of any allergies.)

  • Bring in items from your culture to display

  • Offer a performance that represents your culture

  • Offer an activity that represents your culture

  • Donate a raffle basket

  • Anything else you’d like to offer just let us know!

Holiday Support

Our food and clothing pantry is always ready to take in non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, and gently used clothing. Please reach out to Mrs. Cabrera at jenniffer.cabreravicente@haverhill-ps.org to support!

Our GoFundMe for our annual gift drive is well underway. Please share the link far and wide to make this our biggest one yet! Please visit https://gofund.me/b97b179a to help out!

8th Grade Families:
8th grade families are invited to join the Remind group for the Washington, DC trip. This is how we’ll communicate for meetings, fundraising, etc. Once we’re on the trip we’ll also share pictures and updates. To join visit https://www.remind.com/join/abcindc25.

T1 Report Cards will be posted to the SchoolBrains Community Portal by 4 pm on Monday 12/2. As a reminder, students should not be on school grounds before 8:05 am unless they are in the morning Discovery Club or another school-sponsored program. Picture retakes will be this Friday, December 6th.

Last but certainly not least…a BIG welcome back to Ms. Maldonado! We are anticipating that Ms. Maldonado will join us back from her medical leave on Monday. We’re excited to have her back!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
