Message from the Principal:

Hello Consentino Families,

We hope to see everyone this Thursday, October 22, for our first Parent-Teacher conferences of the school year! These conferences offer a valuable opportunity to connect with your child's teachers, discuss academic and social progress, and set goals for the remainder of the term. The conferences will take place in person from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. To accommodate as many families as possible, individual sessions are scheduled for 5 minutes each. To make the most of your time, please review your student's progress report online via the parent portal before arriving, and prepare any specific questions or topics you wish to discuss.

As autumn progresses and temperatures continue to drop, please note that students will still go outside for outdoor recess on our new playspace. Fresh air and outdoor movement remain an important part of our daily routine. Please ensure your student comes to school dressed warmly in a heavy coat, hat, and gloves, and kindly remind them to bring all outerwear back home at the end of the day. Outdoor recess will take place daily unless extreme weather conditions occur, such as active snowfall or temperatures dropping below freezing.

In addition, as you may have observed along Washington Street earlier this week, our school successfully conducted a planned ALICE safety drill with all students and staff. As part of this drill, classes practiced evacuating the building and walking together to our designated off-site emergency rally point at the Julian Steele Housing Complex. Our students did an outstanding job throughout the exercise—they remained calm, focused, and remarkably quiet throughout the evacuation, which is critical to ensuring safety and clear communication in an actual emergency. We appreciate your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and prepared school community.

Please remember the playground is unsupervised after school.  Students who stay back on the playground have been using the playground in a manner that it is not intended for, and are getting hurt.  We remind students to leave, but they come back.

PTO

UPCOMING PTO EVENTS:

BAKE SALE on October 22 during parent-teacher conferences. Check out our sign-up genius to sign up to donate a treat: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0A4EA5A822A2FE3-66762144-parent. Please also come to conferences hungry and grab some goodies before or after your conference!

FUNDRAISER: We kicked off an "UN-Fundraiser" this week. Donations can be made via Venmo (@ABConsentino-PTO) or by check. We already have some funding requests coming in for buses for the Grade 8 field trip to Boston to visit the Freedom Trail. We love to help keep costs down for our students, so please donate to the fundraiser if you can, and share with friends and family! There will be prizes for students who collect the most donations!

Also remember, our PTO School Store is open every Friday at lunch. Many items are under $5 each, so this is another great way to support the PTO so we can support our students and teachers!

Our LinkTree link (with Venmo, Facebook, Instagram and more) is here: https://linktr.ee/consentinopto
