Message from the Principal

Hello Consentino Families

I want to take a moment to thank you for your support over the past few weeks of school. Overall, students have been arriving on time, and attendance has been impressive! As you may know, missing one or two days each month can add up to 18 days or more over the school year. A student is considered to have chronic absenteeism if they miss 18 days or more within a year. If your child is absent for 10% or more of the school year to date, you can expect a call from our attendance panel offering assistance to help your child attend school regularly. Research shows that missing 10% or more of school days is a significant indicator that a student may drop out of high school.

Everyone is excited about the new playground between Consentino and Silverhill. It’s wonderful to see the students enjoying the equipment when we are outside. However, there are no staff members supervising the students on the playground after school. Many students remain on campus and use the playground without supervision. Please remind your child to follow staff instructions and leave the playground after school. The equipment is meant to be used only under adult supervision.

This year, Haverhill Public Schools is partnering with the organization STOMP Out Bullying for World Day of Bullying Prevention, observed on Mondays in October. We encourage all staff and students to wear blue on Mondays throughout the month to promote peace and awareness of bullying prevention (#BlueUp). We also have several contests and activities planned to help spread this important message.

There is a new method for signing up for sports this year.  Haverhill Public Schools has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season to season and year to year, so you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information for each of your students wherever possible, saving you time. Please register at: https://haverhillps-ma.finalforms.com/ and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students and sign your forms. 

Chorus

Hello Consentino families. Chorus will be offered during the school day for all grades this year. Sign-up sheets with more details will be coming soon. Our Winter concert will be on December 8th. We look forward to seeing you there.

Yearbook: 

Permission slips for any 8th grader interested in joining the yearbook club have been given out to homeroom teachers. Please return permission slips to Ms. Shea by 9/25. Our first meeting will be 10/5.

Middle School Field Hockey: 

Exciting news is on the horizon for our young athletes! 

We are thrilled to announce that Middle School Field Hockey is officially coming in Spring 2027! We can't wait to see our future players build confidence, learn new skills, and make lifelong memories on the field.

To help us create the best possible experience for our team, we need a little help from you! Please take a moment to scan the QR code in the photo and complete our quick interest survey. Your feedback is essential as we prepare equipment, schedules, and program details.

 Ready to Hit the Slopes?

It’s time to start thinking about Ski Club! 

We’re hoping to bring back our 6-week Ski Bradford after-school program, starting January 4, 2027. Last year was a blast, and we’d love to do it again!

6 weeks | Tuesdays, approximately 5–9 PM
Ski Bradford
 We need at least 20 students to make it happen!

Group Rates:

●  Lift Only — $225

●  Ski Lessons — $365

●  Snowboard Lessons — $365

●  Ski/Snowboard Rental — $150

●  Helmet Rental — $30

Never skied or snowboarded before? No problem! It’s a great place to learn and have fun with friends.

Interested in being a monitor? Monitors get to ski for free while helping keep an eye on the group! Let me know if you’re interested.

Payments are due by November 30.

Technology

HPS offers the opportunity to protect school-issued devices for the school year by paying a Device Waiver Fee. As outlined in the HPS Student Technology Device Policy, this $20 fee will help to cover the costs of potential damage, repair, or loss for the school year for the assigned device. Please note: issues of theft should still be reported to the police. The $20 covers 1 student for 1 school year. So families with more than one student will have to sign each student up separately. Some of the replacement costs are as follows:

Charger - $39

LCD Screen - $80

Top/Bottom Cover - $30-$35

Keyboard $70

Trackpad $15

Device Replacement Costs (when Chromebook is unrepairable) $199

Parent Resources

Want to learn more about your child’s grades, schedules, report cards, and more? Please go to the parent resource page for more information.  You can sign up for a parent account by emailing portalsupport@haverhill-ps.org.  When you email portal support, give them your full name, your child’s name, your email address, and the school your child attends.  

The students have using the 3D printer pens in Technology to make some cool stuff!
