Consentino Weekly Update- 5/24/25

Good morning Charger Nation!

Happy Saturday and happy Memorial Day Weekend!

On Monday, we celebrate Memorial Day. While it is what many of us consider to be the unofficial start of summer, it is also a day of reflection and thanksgiving. First celebrated in 1868 and known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is the one day each year where we reflect on the sacrifices of the more than 1 million men and women who gave their lives in service to our country since the Battle of Lexington & Concord in 1775. While enjoying cookouts and other pre-summer activities this weekend, please take a moment to reflect and give thanks for the sacrifice of so many and their families.

This past week was our final week of MCAS. Our 8th graders really knocked it out of the park! Not only did they take ELA, Math, and Science but they also persevered through the new Civics MCAS. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the hard work of all of our students this year. Over the course of the coming week, we’ll be making up some missed tests and completing our final iReady Diagnostic on Wednesday and Thursday.

This coming week we will be opening the 1969 time capsule as we begin our 1-year countdown to the ribbon cutting/opening of our new school. Due to limited space and parking, the event will be closed to the general public but will be recorded and televised by HC Media. Please be on the lookout for more information and an update of the contents!

Please read below for some important updates/dates, especially important for our 8th graders. Enjoy the long weekend and we’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday!

Washington, DC
Our Washington Trip is almost here!

We’ll be departing Haverhill on Monday, June 2nd at 6 am sharp. All students must be at Consentino at 5 am for bag checks. As a reminder, students will need to pay for their lunch on the way to DC and their dinner on the way back. We do not recommend more than $100 in cash. Each student is limited to one bag (small duffle or typical overhead compartment bag) and one backpack.

Cases of water are greatly appreciated and can be brought to the school on the morning of departure.

We will return to Consentino on Thursday, June 5th. Students will call their families when we reach the Mass Pike (about 1 hour away). Throughout the trip, we plan to communicate on social media and our Remind app group. Find us on Remind at abcinDC25.

8th Grade Promotion
8th grade promotion is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th at 5:30 pm. Students will need to be in their homerooms by 5 pm. Families should bring their own chairs to set up around the front courtyard with the ceremony will take place. If the ceremony needs to move indoors due to inclement weather, all students will be limited to TWO guests. Let’s hope for fair weather!

While we do not recommend dismissing your student early on promotion day to get ready but if you do, students must remain at school until 11:30 am. Students must be dismissed by an adult on their profile. We will not release to emergency contacts without a phone call from the parent/guardian first. Please bring a government-issued ID if you choose to dismiss your student. Student will NOT be dismissed on their own to walk home.
