Consentino Weekly Update- 5/17/25

Good morning Chager Nation!

Happy Saturday!

We had a solid week at Consentino, finishing up Math MCAS, starting Science MCAS, and completing our school Civics Showcase with our 8th graders. Our finalists from the Civics Showcase will join those from the other middle schools at City Hall on Monday (5/19) starting at 5:30 pm. Please stop by if you can to show support!

This week is a busy one. Our 5th and 8th graders finish Science MCAS on Monday, followed by our 8th graders taking the Civics MCAS on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is going to be an amazing night with our Expressions of Us Community Night, where dozens of our talented students will showcase their artistic talents in visual and performing arts. The event doubles as our 4th grade move-up night, where all rising 5th graders are welcome to join us to experience the event, take tours of the school, and learn about the various clubs and activities available at Consentino. Please join us for the event in the gym from 5-7 pm. The event is free to all, with concessions available for purchase.

Thursday is also our final Washington, DC meeting before our departure on June 2nd. All 8th graders participating in the trip must attend the meeting with their parent/guardian. The meeting starts promptly at 6 pm in the cafe. If you have a significant conflict that cannot be avoided, please contact us as soon as possible, as time will need to be scheduled for you to meet with school staff before departure.

8th grade promotion is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th at 5:30 pm. Students will need to be in their homerooms by 5 pm. Families should bring their own chairs to set up around the front courtyard with the ceremony will take place. If the ceremony needs to move indoors due to inclement weather, all students will be limited to TWO guests. Let’s hope for fair weather!

While we do not recommend dismissing your student early on promotion day to get ready but if you do, students must remain at school until 11:30 am. Students must be dismissed by an adult on their profile. We will not release to emergency contacts without a phone call from the parent/guardian first. Please bring a government-issued ID if you choose to dismiss your student. Student will NOT be dismissed on their own to walk home.

Below you’ll find some important upcoming dates and announcements. Have a great weekend!

Haverhill Public Library Partnership

A librarian from Haverhill Public Library visited our 5th and 6th graders! Students received library card applications and learned about all the exciting summer programs and resources HPL has to offer. Our students were engaged, respectful, and full of thoughtful questions for Rachel, the Teen Services Librarian.

HPL will return to present to our 7th and 8th graders on May 30th.

Don’t forget! Tomorrow, May 17th, is Haverhill Public Library’s Comic Con from 10 AM – 4 PM,  free and for all-ages!

Attached is a flyer outlining all of HPL’s FREE summer activities and programs. For more events and information, visit https://haverhillpl.org/.

Completed library card applications can be returned to Consentino and we’ll make sure they get to the library!
