Good afternoon Charger Nation!
Happy Friday Eve!
As we head into the vacation, I wanted to get this note out to everyone to wish everyone a safe and relaxing vacation! To those celebrating Passover and Easter, I wish you the best. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Friday, April 18th.
School will re-open on Monday, April 28th, and it’s a sprint to the end of the year between MCAS, end-of-year activities, and 8th grade promotion. It is a busy but exciting time!
First up, our 5th grade field trip to Strawberry Bank in Portsmouth will be on 4/29 and 5/1. If you have questions about the trip, please feel free to reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.
Our 7th and 8th graders will visit Canobie Lake on June 9th for their end-of-year celebration.
7th and 8th-grade families, as a reminder, students must pass 3 out of 4 of their core content classes in order to be promoted to the next grade level. Students not meeting these criteria will be required to attend the Bridge Program at Haverhill High School over the summer. Please review your child’s grades carefully over the next few months (progress reports out 5/6) and feel free to reach out to your child’s teachers directly with any questions.
As announced last week, the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on 6/10 at 5:30 pm. The ceremony will take place outside near our main entrance and is open to all family members, but we ask that each family limit to 6 attendees. Families are invited to bring their own lawn chairs. Should we need to pivot to indoors due to inclement weather, all students will be limited to two guests. The dinner and dance (students only) will follow the ceremony. Only students being promoted may attend the dinner and dance.
We are in the process of planning for the removal of the 1969 time capsule housed in the cornerstone of the existing building in celebration of the roughly 1-year mark until the NEW Consentino is occupied. Construction is certainly coming along! Stay tuned for details!
We’re really excited to formally announce our Expressions of Us event on May 22nd from 5-7 pm! Artwork, sculptures, writing, projects, etc., created by our fabulous Chargers, will be displayed around our school gym. We will also have amazing performances by our advanced band, chorus, drama club, and solo performances by some of our extremely talented Chargers! Admission is free, but refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the night! For more information, please see the attached flyer. Hope you can join us!
We wish our students a happy break, and we look forward to seeing everyone recharged on April 28th.
Take care!
