Good morning Charger Nation!
Happy Saturday!
Our first delivery of steel has arrived and we have several more coming this week! Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll take in nearly 20 deliveries of steel weighing more than 2,000 tons! One of our cranes should be arriving this morning, which means Monday, we should begin seeing the skeleton of the building going up. One step closer!
Our afterschool activities are in full swing at this point with Discovery Club starting on Monday. Additionally, students have started the campaign process for our Student Council. We’re really excited to have our own election day the day before the national elections. Perfectly aligning with the school election, our PTO is hosting a t-shirt fundraiser to support our 8th graders and their trip to Washington, DC. If you’re interested in helping out, please visit https://www.jotform.com/242737493451159.
Our Guidance Department is working hard this year to find new ways to work with our students to explore education and career options for their future. The Naviance program is one tool that they use to do this. To learn more about Naviance, please visit https://docs.google.com/document/d/1o-PMjVKojRtbOy-uyE3XJEC1WrOUrP0jzrCu0KSO0O0/edit.
8th grade families are invited to join the Remind group for the Washington, DC trip. This is how we’ll communicate for meetings, fundraising, etc. Once we’re on the trip we’ll also share pictures and updates. To join visit https://www.remind.com/join/abcindc25. For those families that could not make the info night, we’ve added another opportunity for this Wednesday at 5:30 pm. We’ll be holding it at J.G. Whittier Middle School (256 Concord St.). Remember, the earlier kids sign up, the more opportunities for fundraising, which means a cheaper trip. This is an awesome opportunity for kids and they have a blast!
Our 7th graders will be heading to the Museum of Fine Arts and our 8th graders are planning on heading to the Freedom Trail in November. Please stay tuned for more info and permission slips in the next few weeks.
Family conferences are Thursday, 10/17 from 5:30-7 pm. Over the next week or so the teams will be reaching out to set up conferences.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our Fright Night on 10/30 @5pm.

Finally, this week, Ms. Maldonado heads out for a few weeks on medical leave. We anticipate that she’ll return in about 6 weeks. She will not have access to email at this time so please feel free to reach out to me with any questions/concerns. We wish her the best, and we’ll miss her while she is gone, but she’ll be back soon!
Have a great weekend!
