Dear Charger Families,
As you may recall from my communication Sunday evening, Consentino hosted a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site this afternoon for our staff. After testing 50 staff members, we found that one additional staff member has tested positive. This new case brings the total count of positive cases within our staff to six. To reiterate my previous message, there is no indication that the virus has been spread from student to staff or staff to student.
After consultation with Katie Vozeolas, Director of Health & Nursing Services, Dr. John Maddox the District Physician, Superintendent Marotta and other members of the district’s Leadership Team, we contacted the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the decision has been made to pivot learning at Consentino to a fully remote model through Thursday, November 12th. At this time, we plan to reopen hybrid learning on Friday, November 13th with our Cohort B students.
Reverting to remote learning is a difficult decision, as we know that students learn best when we have them in front of us. That being said, these steps are being taken to stop the spread occurring within our staff and give time to reorganize prior to resuming in-person learning.
All students should follow their existing schedules as they would on any remote day until they return on November 13th.
As always, I thank you for your continued support and encouragement. The past eight months have been trying, but they aren’t anything the Charger community can’t handle.

Como recordarán de mi comunicación el domingo por la noche, Consentino organizó un sitio de prueba COVID-19 esta tarde para nuestro personal. Después de evaluar a 50 miembros del personal, encontramos que un miembro adicional del personal dio positivo. Este nuevo caso eleva el recuento total de casos positivos dentro de nuestro personal a seis. Para reiterar mi mensaje anterior, no hay indicios de que el virus se haya transmitido de estudiante a personal o de personal a estudiante.
Después de consultar con Katie Vozeolas, Directora de Servicios de Salud y Enfermería, el Dr. John Maddox, el Médico del Distrito, el Superintendente Marotta y otros miembros del Equipo de Liderazgo del distrito, nos contactamos con el Departamento de Educación Primaria y Secundaria y se tomó la decisión de cambiar el aprendizaje en Consentino a un modelo totalmente remoto hasta el jueves 12 de noviembre. En este momento, planeamos reabrir el aprendizaje híbrido el viernes 13 de noviembre con nuestros estudiantes de la Cohorte B.
Revertir al aprendizaje remoto es una decisión difícil, ya que sabemos que los estudiantes aprenden mejor cuando los tenemos frente a nosotros. Dicho esto, se están tomando estos pasos para detener la propagación que ocurre dentro de nuestro personal y dar tiempo para reorganizarse antes de reanudar el aprendizaje en persona.
Todos los estudiantes deben seguir sus horarios existentes como lo harían en cualquier día remoto hasta que regresen el 13 de noviembre.Como siempre, les agradezco su continuo apoyo y aliento.
Los últimos ocho meses lo han intentado, pero no es algo que la comunidad de Charger no pueda manejar.
