Hello Families,

We are excited as we move closer to the opening of the new school.  At this time, we plan to take the students through the new building on June 12.  We are also planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 15 from 4:00 - 6:00, which will be open to the community.

Here is a peek from  the stairs in front of the media center (library)  down to the cafe facing the stage:

Consentino Middle School is happy to announce that we will be hosting our second annual Multicultural Night this May 21st from 5:oopm-7:00 pm. This will be a wonderful celebration of the beautiful cultures our school community can commemorate through art, music, poetry, dance, food, and so much more!

To make this event a success, we are asking our school community to get involved. We are looking for parent, student, and staff volunteers to show our students how to dance, make a delicious dish, share music, poetry, art, and whatever else you are willing to share with our school community! We have a volunteer form to sign up to bring food for a potluck-style meal, as we did last year, as well as to ask for volunteers to run different activities, such as teaching our students different dance styles (merengue, bachata, etc.). We look forward to celebrating with all of you and ask that you please fill out this volunteer Google form to let us know how you would like to contribute to Multicultural Night: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSel9k0OE7PEJZrDYAfSXgxqIdG5xbQSBWTRHmCYWYNzsT1ECQ/viewform

Grade 7 and 8 only

Haverhill Public Schools will administer the Attitudes and Behaviors Survey for all youth in Grades 7 & 8 in April & May 2026. This survey is offered to students in grades 7 & 8 in order to gain insight into the experiences and perspectives of our youth in school and in the community. We conduct surveys such as this to better understand and assess the needs of our student population regarding programming and services in our city.

The survey focuses on the strengths and supports that youth have and need in their lives as well as their own perceptions of their attitudes and behaviors. Findings from this survey will help our school district and other partners work with you to ensure that young people in our community have the opportunities they need to be successful in life.

Additional Information:

  • Participation is highly recommended however, it is also voluntary.  There are no consequences if your student chooses not to participate. Non-participating youth will be asked to read quietly while the survey is administered

  • Prior to administering the survey, students are told that their participation is voluntary and that they can skip questions if they so choose.

  • The survey will be conducted in your student’s classroom during the school day.  The survey is computer-based and will be conducted on HPS-issued Chromebooks.

  • Students read survey questions independently and answer each item at their own pace. Translation will be available for Multilingual Learners at the beginning levels (Level I and Level II).

  • On average, the survey takes less than 30 minutes to complete

Parent Information:

Please give serious consideration for your student to participate in this study. The value of a study depends upon the participation of many youth.  It is your right as a parent/guardian to opt your student out of this survey if you do not want them to participate.  If you do not want your student to participate, please click on the Opt Out Form and complete it by March 30th.

A copy of this survey can be made available for you to view at your child’s school. If you would like to see a copy of the survey, contact the Main Office at your child’s school.  If you have any questions, please contact Jami Dion, Director of Guidance, Counseling and Student Support Services at jdion@haverhill-ps.org or Meg Arivella, Supervisor of School Counseling at megan.arivella@haverhill-ps.org.

YearBook

Yearbook order forms are currently located outside room 23 for any 8th-grade student interested in ordering a yearbook. The cost of each yearbook will be $13, which includes shipping. If the cost is an issue, please speak to Ms. Shea directly during homeroom or through email. Yearbook order forms need to be filled out and returned with payment by April 30th. All checks can be made out to Consentino Middle School.

We often do a Guess Who for the last few pages of the yearbook. If interested, please email baby photos directly to Ms. Shea at samantha.shea@haverhill-ps.org. Please make sure when sending the photo, you include the student's first and last name! Baby Photos are due by April 30th.

Finally, any 8th grade student who is interested may submit a submission for the cover of the yearbook. Students' covers need to be designed on a blank white piece of 8.5in x 11in paper.  If a student would like, they may either hand-draw/color a cover submission, or they can design it online and email it to Ms. Shea as a PDF. All cover submissions for the front or back cover are due by April 30th.

For any other questions, please email Ms. Shea at samantha.shea@haverhill-ps.org.
