Good morning Charger Nation!
Happy frosty Saturday!
With the weather being so cold I just wanted to take a moment and remind everyone that staff do not come on duty until 8:05 am. Please avoid dropping your child off at school or allowing them to walk to school before this time. When we have staff available, we certainly let them know it is not something I can guarantee on a daily basis.
ACCESS testing for our ML students is going great and we’ll be wrapping up this week. Our Title 1 tutoring program for ELA is in full swing and we’re full speed ahead through the second half of the year!
This Thursday, from 5:30 to 7pm is our family conference night. If you have not made an appointment please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher. Families who come without an appointment are not guaranteed a spot and may need to meet with their child’s teacher at an alternate time.
Registration for Washington, DC is quickly coming to an end. The absolute last day to register is February 14th. At this point, funds raised from the Election Day baksale with the PTO at the Haverhill Public Library, and the DoubleGood popcorn fundraiser have been applied to accounts. Some students have completely paid for their trip with those two alone! As a reminder, if fundraising/parent payment results in an overpayment, the parent will receive a refund of the difference directly from Capital Tours after the trip. Families are ONLY refunded the money they paid personally. Fundraising money is retained by the school in the student activity fund. We want all students to have the opportunity to attend and will do all that we can to ensure it is financially possible. To answer any questions, we will have another informational meeting at Consentino on February 3rd at 6 pm.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Clothing Collection:
We are collecting gently used or new winter clothing donations, specifically sweaters, sweatpants, and socks, to help our students stay warm during the colder months. Your generosity will make a real difference in providing comfort and warmth to our students. If you are able to assist please reach out to Mrs. Cabrera at jenniffer.cabreravicente@haverhill-ps.org or by calling our main number.
8th Grade Families:
8th grade families are invited to join the Remind group for the Washington, DC trip. This is how we’ll communicate for meetings, fundraising, etc. Once we’re on the trip we’ll also share pictures and updates. To join visit https://remind.com/join/abcindc25. Please remember, registration closes on February 14th. There are no exceptions to this deadline.
